A photovoltaic (PV) power generation system is a power generation system that uses the photovoltaic effect of photovoltaic cells to directly convert solar radiation energy into electrical energy. It consists of solar cell modules (arrays), controllers, energy storage batteries (groups), DC/AC inverters, etc. It can be used for domestic power supply in remote areas without electricity, and is also widely used in transportation, communications, petroleum, marine, meteorological, aerospace and other fields.

Photovoltaic power generation systems are divided into stand-alone photovoltaic power generation systems and grid-connected photovoltaic power generation systems. The core component is the solar cell module, which has the characteristics of high reliability, long service life, no environmental pollution, and the ability to generate electricity independently or operate on the grid.
